Kei Tsukishima (Tsukishima Kei) is a first year at Karasuno High School; he is a middle blocker in the Karasuno High Volleyball Club and is the younger brother of Akiteru Tsukishima. Tsukishima is very tall and has an average build for a volleyball player. Despite being a first year, he is the tallest player in Karasuno, standing at 188.3 cm. He has short blond hair and golden brown eyes. He is often seen with a frown or condescending smirk on his face. After joining the Karasuno volleyball team, during games, Tsukishima wears Karasuno's black, orange, and white uniform with the number 11 on the back. Ryūnosuke Tanaka (Tanaka Ryūnosuke) is a 2nd year student at Karasuno Highschool; he is a wing spiker of the Karasuno High Boy's Volleyball Club. Tanaka has a shaved head and sharp blue/grey eyes (golden brown in the manga coloured illustrations) which lead many to mistake him as a delinquent. He is also average in height and has a lean build. He tends to make strange faces to try to scare and intimidate others, which Daichi scolds him for. Loud, hot-headed, and easily angered, he is no stranger to picking fights. He is also somewhat of a slacker, shown by his less-than-stellar work ethic in school and his usual lateness to practices. Despite all this, he is shown to be caring and supportive towards his teammates, and even protective of his underclassmen. Once he gets fired up, he is usually unstoppable on the court–and also unstoppably loud, as demonstrated by his over-the-top cheering after he scores or pulls off an incredible move. Yū Nishinoya (Nishinoya Yū) is a 2nd year student at Karasuno High School. He serves as the libero for his school's volleyball team, and is regarded by his teammates as "Karasuno's Guardian Deity". Nishinoya is the shortest person on the team, standing at 159 cm. Despite his small stature, he has a fairly muscular build. He regularly styles his wild hair by ruffling most of it upwards, adding 10 cm to his height; the tiny tuft of hair that falls over his forehead appears to be bleached. His eyes are brown and slanted. He's keen on wearing bright-colored shirts that typically have some ostentatious phrase printed at their front or back, such as "One-Man Army" or "Three-Point Headstand". Asahi Azumane (Azumane Asahi) is a 3rd year student in Class 3 from Karasuno High; he is one of the boys' volleyball club's wing spikers and its ace. He has long hair which is usually styled as a bun behind his head and dark brown eyes matching his hair as well as his eyebrows. He also appears to be growing a short scruff on his chin, his overall appearance makes him look way beyond his age yet slightly unapproachable. In contrast to his appearance, he is rather quiet and gentle and has his difficulties realizing that he is Karasuno's ace as he initially doesn't feel that way. He shows to be weak-willed at the beginning when he leaves the team before the first years come, feeling that he let down his entire team when they lost against Date Tech High even though they counted on him.
