Watch: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on Rampage Official Movie Trailer

Image
The trailer for Rampage has landed, and it looks deliciously absurd. Based on the 1986 arcade game, Rampage follows Davis Okoye, a primatologist played by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, as he deals with an outbreak of Kong-sized monsters. Primatologist Davis Okoye (Johnson), a man who keeps people at a distance, shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, Silverback Gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry mutates this gentle ape into a raging creature of enormous size. As these newly created alpha predators tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend. Players familiar with the original game will be happy to see that all three monsters Lizzie the croc, George the goril...

Wonder Woman 2 will hit theaters sooner than we expected

Image
Wonder Woman 2 has just been set to hit theaters November 1, 2019 a full six weeks earlier than the previously announced December 13, 2019 release date. No official reason was given for the change, but it probably has something to do with the fact that Disney has Star Wars: Episode IX set for December 20, 2019. And maybe also the fact that Thor: Ragnarok just did ginormous numbers in the corresponding weekend of this year. As of now, Wonder Woman has that November 1, 2019 release date all to itself though Fox has November 22, 2019 reserved for an as-yet-untitled Marvel movie. (Yeah, the superhero movie wave doesn't look like it's slowing down anytime soon.) Whatever the thought process behind this shift, we're not complaining. Patty Jenkins will return to direct Wonder Woman 2. Gal Gadot is expected to reprise the lead role, although a recent report suggested she might not return if producer Brett Ratner does. Gal Gadot won’t star in the Wonder Woman sequel un...

Alibaba’s Founder Jack Ma Stars in Kung Fu Movie

Image
Ma Yun, known professionally as Jack Ma sure is one absolutely incredible specimen of a human being. The legendary Chinese entrepreneur, better known for his work as the founder and executive chairman of the Alibaba Group, is prepping to take on a new unexpected role: starring in action movies. The Alibaba boss is set throw down some mad kung fu chops in an all-new martial arts movie, produced by none other than action extraordinaire Jet Li, China’s CGTN reports. The entrepreneur has already confirmed the news on his official Weibo (known as the Chinese Twitter) along with a picture of the film’s poster. Titled Gong Shou Da or the art of guard and defense  the twenty-minute short will feature appearances from Li himself as well as other notable local action stars, including Donnie Yen and Jing Wu. Details of Ma’s involvement in the movie remain vague as of now. While reports claim the entrepreneur will act in the movie, IMDB lists him as the director. In any case, we can’t w...

Deathstroke movie in the works at Warner Brothers

Image
Warner Brothers is already teasing another DC Entertainment adaptation. But instead of focusing attention on superheroes, this new movie would star a big bad villain, Deathstroke. Despite the recent pivot to happier, feel-good fare thanks to "Wonder Woman," and with the swashbuckling "Aquaman" movie finally wrapped, Warner Bros. looks to take a risk on a darker, fairly bloody character. The Times can confirm that "The Raid" director Gareth Evans is in talks to write and direct a "Deathstroke" feature starring former "True Blood" werewolf Joe Manganiello. Fun fact: Manganiello was already on the radar to play Deathstroke. Fans even assumed he would appear in either "Justice League" or the standalone Batman movie, especially after Batman himself (Ben Affleck) released some footage of the character (presumably on the "Justice League" set) via Twitter. However, it looks like most of that cameo has been scrapped...
